Aikido, Art, and How We See the World
April 11 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Join Julia and Shyaam as they invite you into a morning of movement, colour, and meaning-making — exploring what it looks and feels like to stand in your own power, express what lives inside you, and understand how you — and others — make sense of the world.
We begin with Aikido — not as combat, but as philosophy. Through practice and presence, we explore what it means to meet life without fighting it. To be rooted. To hold your ground with ease.
Then we slow down into art. As Julia puts it: “Colours are emotions talking.” We work in the spirit of being in the mystery of who we are, without judgement.
Followed by that, Shyaamlal offers a short lens on how human beings make sense of the world — and what becomes possible when we can recognise where each other is coming from.
Woven through the workshop: two ways of seeing. Julia, born in Sri Lanka and raised in Denmark, and Shyaamlal, rooted in India — feminine and masculine, East and West. We are curious about what opens up when we look through each other’s eyes.
