Inspiring Change from Within
SEED is a community of people co-creating a learning and healing experience. It is a gathering of facilitators, space holders, teachers and other service providers who offer their services out of their passion and love. Whether through dance, movement, astrology, ceremony, embodiment, music, art or dialogue, SEED facilitators offer their gifts as a form of political activism.
Although we are used to thinking of political activism as a fight against the system, SEED is a form of activism that changes the system by living out a new one. It does so in the following ways:
- There is no competition. Facilitators take turns offering their gifts, with no need to compare to previous sessions. Every facilitator’s unique expression is what sets them apart but at the same time is equal to another’s.
- The focus is on process over productivity or performance. We take our time to integrate whatever is present in the room, turning our awareness towards the present moment. We allow mistakes, uncertainty, lack of clarity and use these to sharpen our focus as we go.
- We cultivate the resources of trust and patience. Some processes take time. Some are not immediately understood. We work at a natural speed that creates inclusivity and belonging.
- Through working with what we find joyful and motivating, our purpose is to bring us closer to ourselves. That is, we take a break from external pressures and ‘shoulds’ in order to practice following the heart.
- We support each other in our strengths and successes. One person’s success belongs to all of us, and we support the cultivation of our unique strengths in order to make a difference to all of humanity.
- We are open to how SEED can be defined and redefined as we move forward together.
